For the celebration of Apollo 11 on its 40th year, let me give you an insight about “something” that we can be proud of as a Filipino.

When i was young my dad(Jose E. Lapitan) told me that a Filipino invented/designed the Moon buggy or so called Lunar Rover that was used during the Apollo 11 flight on the moon. He also told me that the inventor was a student at Mapua Institute of Technology.
I tried to search those informations on the web, and here are the results.
A Filipino inventor invented the Moon Buggy or Lunar Rover. His name is Eduardo San Juan but sadly he is not well known for such achievement. It is said in some US journals that a group of NASA engineers invented the Moon Buggy. In Polland it is claimed that a Pollish inventor created the Lunar Rover. Worse, the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) does not recognize San Juan in its roster of outstanding Filipino scientists. Eduardo San Juan – Filipino Inventor:Mechanical engineer, Eduardo San Juan (aka The Space Junkman) worked on the team that invented the Lunar Rover or Moon Buggy. Eduardo San Juan is considered the primary designer of the Lunar Rover. San Juan was also the designer for the Articulated Wheel System. Prior, to the Apollo Program, Eduardo San Juan worked on the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).
Eduardo San Juan graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology. He then studied Nuclear Engineering at the University of Washington. In 1978, San Juan received one of the Ten Outstanding Men (TOM) awards in science and technology. Source

I did some research on this. I couldn't find any document that supports the claim that Engr. Eduardo San Juan invented/co-invented the Lunar Rover. According to the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal the "moon buggy" was designed and built by Boeing. I'd love to be proven wrong on this. Anybody out there with actual documentary proof?

No, this is not true. Read here the history of the development of lunar rover, http://history.msfc.nasa.gov/lunar/LRV.pdf Wala ang name nya. It's so sad that Filipinos would resort to such intellectual dishonesty. Magaling nga ang mga Filipinos mag-invent ng hoaxes.
